Tips and Reminders for Staying Well Throughout the Seasons
Winter 2024
This years influenza vaccine is now available free of charge from your GP or pharmacy. Get it as early as you can. Like other years, it covers 4 strains of the influenza virus (2 strains of influenza A & 2 strains of influenza B). It is based on what strains the WHO feel are most likely to circulate this year.
If you are due a Covid-19 booster, you may be offered both on the same day. It is also fine if your preference is to take them on separate visits. Contact your GP or pharmacy for further details.
Autumn/Winter 2023
This years seasonal flu vaccine contains protection against 4 strains of the flu virus (2 strains of Influenza A and 2 strains of the Influenza B). These strains have been identified by the World Health Organization (WHO) as most likely to circulate this year. The vaccine should be available from your GP or pharmacy in the coming weeks and we would recommend that you get it. Just a reminder also that we would advise you to keep up to date with your Covid-19 boosters as the cover offered in newer vaccines may give you better protection against future variants.
